I know Fender drops keys on their relics and Road Worns. I personally would not suggest doing it yourself. There are several places online that offer relicing services.

And the comment about dragging it behind your car is stupid. If you do that you will not relic it. You will wreck it.

hahhahahahhhaha bigjay your a classic but you told him the truth heaps of great relicing ideas there mate.

My golden relic on my youtube channel didnt have to get tortured like that bigjay and I think he needs to listen to me because I relic with gentleness and love of the instrument. You dont have to take any chunks out of the body thats ridiculous , most relicing occurs with worn paint and sanding, if you relic the guitar and take chunks out of it when you get sick of the reliced look and need to sand it all back you will be sorry chunks are missing just be gentle is my advice. I am a full blown artist and painter as well and consider subtle relicing the key to a good relic job. You compare my relic of the golden guitar and I know many tricks too which I applied to the neck plate and other parts and I bet CS Fender would hire me to create a very excellent relic job

edited because you got it!

Cheers! :)

Re: Signature Strat - It is a Vincent Strauss Signature model, but I don't/didn't see your actual signature on the guitar on EBay - that could increase the value..."owner of the most famous fake strat" and all else that is and will be Vinnypop!!

Wow it was fine with me cracking the jokes at the start. But we dont have anyone on the forum that can help rsegundo out. I found it cool that he told some relic tricks he knew, even though they are not my cup of tea at all I cant believe we dont have anyone that has done a relic on the forum to point this guy in the right direction. Cmon all you relic fanatics show yourselves.

Relicing a guitar is one thing. Dragging it behind a car is something different. They're not the same thing at all.

Relicing isn't stupid at all. It's really a choice. It would ordinarily take years and years and years for a guitar to relic and look like a Custom Shop Relic does. And you might not even live that long to see it happen. Not to mention if you're not playing in a band or gigging but rather just playing at home it's not gonna get reliced that easy.

It's a choice. They look kinda cool actually.
