Hey, im new to these forums, so just a quick question, im into really heavy music and downtuning a fair bit (drop A-B), and ive been thinking of modding up the most ridiculous guitar i could think of, which turnt out to be the Squier Affinity Hello Kitty Strat in Hot pink...

http://www.squierguitars.com/products/s ... 0335005570

And personally, i cant stand having less then 22 frets, and to me aesthetically that headstock is just the vilest thing that could be on a guitar, its massive, ive seen smaller whales, tele headstocks for the win. Anyway, i was looking for replacement necks and came across this:

http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/product/DEEP_6 ... EWOOD_D6SR

and as im into downtuning, i thought hell why not, just means i can downtune even further, with the lamest looking guitar ever!

So im Just wondering, will that neck fit the affinity series? cause ive heard a few things about bolt holes in different places and heels being longer/squarer/rarara, so could anyone help me out here? will this neck fit that strat?

Thats a crazy idea and have never heard of this baritone neck idea before till now. 230 pounds for that neck and they dont even throw in the nut, sounds bloody expensive. Do you sing real low too ? do the extra frets give a lower sound and these baritone strings are they just a heavier gauge string ? very interesting concept and would love to see your finished guitar pleased to meet you and blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa and twaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa to you from Vinny Pop Australia

haha yeh it is a bit expenive, but i cant get it for £130 from a supplier off ebay so its not so bad :P, plus ide prefer it without a nut as i want a locking or rolling nut on it, so i can change strings gauges and not have to worry about getting the nut wound down or replaced!

and haha, singing dont rarely come into my music, but when kit does its generally just the higher octaves.

and the original idea behind Baritones is to have an instrument inbetween the bass and guitar, as its tuning is BEADG#F, but in metal people have just downtuned more and more and it just starts to make sense to use baritones, as the neck is about 3 inches longer they hold the tone better and can handle thicker strings for a beefier sound!! if you wanted standard tuning on this beast youd have to use like 008 or 007 gauge!
