Back in January I went to a local guitar center to buy a strat. I tried a few, there was one I completely fell in love with but couldn't afford at the time. It was a MIA green strat deluxe with noiseles pick ups. This was an amazing guitar. I did buy another on that day, another MIA but was a little cheaper, still a great guitar.

Yesterday I decided it was time to find out if the shop still had it and go and buy the green one. I emailed the store and found out that after 7-8 months of me playing it and it hanging in store that it was sold the night before I emailed. Gutted! I will propably hold off til next year now and start looking again for another one!

Has anyone else ever experienced this? Thought it would be an interesting thread!

They say that timing is everything. I'm sorry that you were a day late, but maybe you'll find something similiar in the future.

I had that happen with a Legend amp--they were great amps--and this one came with a metal shell flight case on wheels!

Oh well, I hope whoever did buy it enjoyed it.

Anybody that's ever worked in a guitr store has seen plenty of guys come thru the front door and say "OH NO! WHERE IS IT????"

There is a rule of the cosmic universe that if one person wants a particular guitar, someone else is thinking exactly the same thing at the same time.

The great thing with fenders is there are so many great instruments and so many possibilties to change parts that the perfect guitar is never far away! I wasn't that dissapointed when I couldn't get the green strat. I have a 2000 MIA strat, a VG strat, and a 2004 MIA Tele, and a few other guitars to play!!

This happened to me earlier this year with a MIJ strat (1988) that was in a local guitar shop. Their website said they still had it, and I'd played it several times over a period of about three weeks. A guy at the store once said to me that they'd hung that guitar from "every hook in the place" but it wouldn't sell, and that they'd had it for almost two years.

I went in there....and it had been sold the previous day! :x

It was no big deal in the scheme of things, and it indirectly led to my purchase of "Lonely boy Jnr", but I wasn't thrilled on the day, I can tell you.
