Hey guys. I'm coming up with my own ideas for a custom shop strat that I hope to be able to have built soon. But I really wanna consider all the cool features that I could put into it, and really make it the perfect strat for me.

So far some ideas that I have are:

-floyd rose

- humbucker in bridge position
-S-1 switch that splits humbucker into single coil.

-make the first tone knob universal for all p/ups, and have the second be a blend between the front and back p/up to get those really cool tele tones.

-quarter sawn neck

--------

Any other ideas?! let me know. Thanks!

Hello MaxQMusic,

Theory dictates quartersaw makes for a
neck with more stability, Fact or fiction?
I dunno but if I had the option, quartersawn.
Eric Johnson tells us theyre the best sooooo.

Do not confuse a quartersawn neck with a
figured neck be it curly, flamed or birseye.
There are plenty of non figured q-sawn necks.

What's your fretboard option?
On a custom, my choice would be ebony.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Quarter-sawn will be stronger, but non 1/4 sawn is strong enough already.

A more rigid neck will affect tone.and sustain.

Why the Floyd? I'd get a CS 2-point if it were me...

I disagree with you, Eibach, but then again, look at the title. Is it your custom strat? ;)
