I have a rack that holds 7 guitars. Both of my Highways - Strat and Tele - suffered "burns". The finish was rough and a bit bubbled. My high tech solution was to put old white socks where the guitar touches the rack.

There are some real horror stories in this thread - I'm glad I took the advice of another member here and decided to put my H1 in a case!

Here is the solution: When the guitar is out on the stand make sure the guitar is touching some cotton socks or a guitar finishing cloth or something similar where the contact points of the stand meet the guitar body and neck.

When you are done playing for the day put the guitar back in it's case.

I too have been thinking about this. My Hot Rod 57 only sees it's case when not being played. I would like to find a stand I feel comfortable enough to set it in from time to time.

A used condom placed behind the neck will cushion the scraping.

I wouldn't take a chance on any guitar stand thinking it's okay or nitro safe. Whatever stand you use put cotton socks or something similar on the contact points.
