yeah it definitely was heritage cherry, it's just been played in a shitload of smokey bars over its 15 year lifespan which had made the nitro coat on it alot moodier/darker.

finished. everything went like a charm.

the sound of the texas specials is HUGE. the range of frequencies/tone is IMMENSE, especially through a blues jnr, this thing just hammers! i put it back to back with my friends eric johnson sig and it was a cool offset. the pickups are more peppery and aggressive than the eric johnson (which i like) but i think the EJ beats it by a nose hair in terms of clarity, but that's REALLY being picky.

i'm smitten and the new pickguard looks fuckin' ace!

i also did some work on a possibly $@!&*% up ABR-1 bridge on my SG. here's the pics from that:

the saddles were way off cause someone had set it up for a lefty to play. the bridge, when switched around with the screws facing the headstock, was perfectly in alignment. we hadn't even bothered to check this beforehand. so i wasted a fair amount of $$$ on new saddles and a bridge piece. anyone need an ABR-1? :P

bump for those who didn't see. the tonal abilities with these pickups is immense. i'm loving every second of them and they have that amazing stevie punch. my whole style of playing is actually improving with the new sounds that i am hearing from these bad boys.

highly recommend them for people who like to pack a punch in their blues. :D
