That should dress it up and glad to see you going back to a SSS setup.
Pickup covers don`t match the knobs and guard but it will still look nice.

oh i forgot to mention that it's also going to have the upper tone control as a master tone control and the lower tone control is going to be wired in as a blender so i can colour my sound with other pickups depending on where i am on the toggle switch.

actually i'm gonna switch the current pickup covers over to the new pickups and take off the white.

or leave them white. i'm not sure. the cream pickup covers blend in alot with the pick guard, so i'm not exactly sure what i want to do, gonna have a play around and see what i like. might even do a mish mash of colours :P

i think it'll give me a whole other world of tonal ability since instead of taking some of the ice off the bridge pickup by lower the tone control, i can round/warm up the sound by blending in a little bit of neck pickup. should be good. i'll let you guys know how it goes for sure.

Hey Nihilist, is that a Classic 50s Strat?

Just thinking that those upgrades are going to take you well away from the whole 1950's vibe..

yeah it's a Classic 50's and that's the idea ;P i'd prefer a much beefier sound than what the current pickups give me.

I recommend this kit, it comes in 3 different colors. The white parchement would probably be more true to the 50's look.

cool, i'm good with the bits and pieces i have now, though. i think i'll leave all the controls cream and then do a 2x white pickup covers (bridge, middle) and 1x cream pickup cover (neck) just to shake things up. also, i don't use a back cover plate either.

i like to make things look unique/mish mashed etc.. not trying to keep anything look original. just want to create the guitar that suits my personality. ]=>

Very tasteful. I'm a sucker for a pearloid pickguard. More pictures, please. 8)

here's a question for people: if i wanted to replace the neck for one that had a rosewood board on it..... what type of fender neck should i be looking for? i have no idea what the neck pocket size is, all i know is that i need a rosewood neck to fit a MIM Classic 50's body.

thanks!

All Fender necks and aftermarket necks will fit a Fender Strat. But the issue becomes manufacturing tolerances. You can't expect to put any Fender neck on any Fender body and get a really snug fit.

Whether this matters to you is up to you.
