I am trying to ID the body on my strat. The upper contour on mine is thinner than my son's Fender Standard. At the thinnest point, mine measures less than 3/4" compared to the Standard at around 1". Anyone have a resource that documents the profile on strat bodies?

Don't know about any documents, sorry.
But since I'm a huge 50s Fender-enthusiast I can say that during '54 when the Stratocaster was released, the body had deep contours. Deeper than on 60s and 70s models. Body was more round from the edges, even the headstock edges were sanded and rounded.

Since you don't give much info about your guitar, it's hard to say what it is. It could be anything from original 50s body to more modern refinished body where someone has sanded the contours deeper. Pretty hard to say...

You might find info in Tom Wheeler's book, The Stratocaster Chronicles: Celebrating 50 Years of the Fender Strat. Tom Wheeler. Hal Leonard

Can you post pics?
