I am sincerly thinking of buying a american deluxe ash strat, and of the pictures I've seen, the aged cherry with the maple neck seems like a beautiful guitar. However, I'm condidering the rosewood neck, but the pictures on the web seem a little strange, like there's too much of the color red on the finish. Is there a difference between the maple and the rosewood neck in regards of the color of the body? Any thoughts on this?

If someone has any pictures of the aged cherry with the rosewood neck, please post. :-)

I think maple would complement the aged cherry on ash due to the way grain pattern handles the finish and it would not draw attention from the body. Rosewood works better w/dark body or natural finishes IMHOP.

I owned a '97 MIA Standard ash natural finish with a rosewood board. I installed the EMG Gilmour rig which had a moto pickguard and cream colored pups and controls. The blend was exquisite and not unlike the effect shown in the pics.
