Don't worry, we're working hard to make a mess of the good ole USA so that we can have the lovely high taxes and government intervention, you Euros have come to love so much.

At a fast pace!!!! Lets jam it through and then tell them we need to pay for it. You know add a VAT and then a few dollars tax per gallion in gas. Can't do it just raising the taxes on the rich thats just sound good BS.

Better yet.....just cut all foreign aid, balance our budget and make room for all those visionary domestic social programs that the current administration is planning. That should eliminate any tax increase across the board while stimulating immigration which we then will be able support. :?

Oh my GOD!

An American store (GC) sells this http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-American-Special-Mahogany-Stratocaster-HSS-Electric-Guitar-102807864-i1168160.gc for 785€! Compared to my local store (Finnish) which has the Highway 1 for 900€, that's cheap.

Ennit just. I cant believe the prices that you guys pay for what are mid to high level amps. What also troubles me is the status the vox ac30 gets over there. You couldnt give me them things, yet people pay through the nose for em. They all come from china bar the top end stuff anyhow. So how does it cost more to import from china to the usa than it does china to the uk?

The factory is well worth visiting though. They still have a guy with a guitar at the end of the line checking the amps. Its a lespaul before anyone asks.

Thats exactly whats happened to England since our inclusion into the european union. The only real answer to the problem is to end the welfare handouts.

A pat on the back as your thrown into freezing water?

Atleast your nation doesnt suffer the same apathy levels as the uk. Here most wouldnt care if you had a nuclear stockpile in their back yard. As long as eastenders, coronation street, big brother and all those other mind killing vegetable state inducing tv programs weren't interupted.

Hmm. Let's see:

Searching a selection of sellers on both countries, I'm finding these prices:

USA

American Standard Strat - $1199.99 / £730
Standard Strat - $499.99 / £304

UK

American Standard Strat $1213 - 1312 / £739 - 799
Standard Strat $469 - 573 / £286 - 349

So. You do indeed have to pay a little bit more in the UK for an imported product - though you can sometimes actually pay a touch less.

I don't think I'll be following ZZDoc's suggested illegal immigration route just yet...

Cheers - C

Hi Doc: the rest of the stuff on this thread is not what I come here for. But some of the numbers I'm reading here are making my eyes pop out of my head with surprise, Daffy Duck style.

I'd refer anyone to the back pages of The Economist magazine for somewhat different figures...

Cheers - C
