And here I thought the National Health made sure people didn't run out of their medications.

Your joking mate, surely. The NHS is the most corrupt institution on the face of the planet. Worse than the vatican even. The majority of Paulpc's rant is quite accurate, though it could have been worded better. Also we pay extortionate taxes (around 85% with all the stealth taxes, if you smoke, drink, work and drive) to keep the rich/poor divide at acceptable levels, the majority dont want to work and expect to be fed clothed and sheltered. Take a member of my family for instance. He has suffered schizophrenia from a very early age. Never done a days work in his life, is waited upon by people he sneers at daily, yet he's worth close on £700K. Just through money he hasnt earned yet been given, rent he hasnt had to pay, electricity and gas he doesnt pay for, and food he hasnt had to buy.

Thank god for the NHS and the welfare system, when he goes i'll be rich.

Quite what either rant has to do with strats is beyond me.

I feel your pain.

In the US, we cannot (easily) get ahold of the Japanese Fenders (and certain models by other Japanese guitar makers).

This complaint of mine doesn't quite match your complaint, I will admit.

Cheers

Don't worry, we're working hard to make a mess of the good ole USA so that we can have the lovely high taxes and government intervention, you Euros have come to love so much.

Consider this:

One can either continue to hang on in quiet desperation or stowaway in the next shipping container to Mexico, cross the border into the States illegally, declare oneself a political refugee from a repressive regime, disappear from plain sight, insinuate oneself into one of the underground social networks which will provide all the necessary information, unavailable to the citizenry, to ultimately become the recipient of the benefits of a plethora of entitlement programs whilst sitting back comfortably on the proverbial arse, whiling away the hours watching telly as a lifetime guest of the US taxpayer........

 ........and.......after having milked the system sufficiently, be able to sock away enough dollars from off-the-books illegal employment to acquire US built Fender gear. 8)

After death, they will ship the body back to 'your country' because there was never any intention of remaining here permanently in the first place. :?

I recall those immortal lines from the poem "The New Colossus":

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled messes......"

Do I have that quite right :?:

Man, you guys are too funny. I guess we are lucky to live in America. However I happen to work very hard for what I have. Including my MIM Strat and scxd. On that note I hope everyone has a great Labor Day.

He cites the yanks 'shagging' their women. Must have been some of the guys who joined the Canadian RAF so they could get into the war against the Nazis before Pearl Harbor.....or maybe some of the Merchant Marine who were rescued after their cargo ships were sunk in convoys carrying materiel across the 'pond' during Lend/Lease.

Alainlafrance once wrote to me in private about such matters with respect to France. Think what you will of the French in today's political climate, From his words I came to know that our blood was not spilled in vain.
