i have only seen one picture of it and it does look like that with the 11 hole pickguard and the logo on top left and looks to be i good nick too.

are they any better than a standard strat and worth the extra as this one is £1100 or $1700 compared to a new standard one at £800 or $1200 here in the UK
all comments welcome...thanks

FhTrucker.

You need to email me at
nikininja@ntlworld.com
for a far better deal. I'm in the uk too.
£1100 is too much, unless its brand new and from a shop.

The serial number is a real Fender...not sure about the guitar though. Nik posted a pic of what one should look like give ot take the paint job :

Guitar Info
This guitar is from the American Deluxe Series
made at the Corona Plant (Fender), USA
in the Year(s): 2004

Fender: Corona
Corona factory was opened in 1985, Corona California, with major guitar production starting in 1987. With the addition of a custom shop in 1987 the plant currently employs about 700 workers. Apart from general and Custom Shop Fender instruments and amplifiers, it also encompasses Guild acoustic & electric guitars.

Mate I'll sell you mine for what i paid for it in january. Regular singlecoils can hum a bit. A deluxes SCN pickups are quiet as mice.

These 50th aniverssary Strats have been a hot topic of late. Hey Niki did you grab that one for playability or collectability or a bit of both,

Collectability, it never gets played.
The previous owner had worn it out a little. Fret dents, bad nut work, intonation issue on the low E. Its all good now though. Gets taken out the box once every 2 months, checked and tweaked if needed and put back. Then i pick up my frankencaster think 'i could never be away from you for long' and forget about the others for awhile.

So then Senior Straycat, whaddya reckon. Change the pickguard (maybe even the pickups and pots) and cave in, play the thing.

Its a bit of a crime that its not played, its a hell of a nice guitar.
