Hey guys. I was just wondering about getting a new guitar. The Deluxe Player's Stratocaster. And, uh... I want to ask all you people who have one...

It can be really good depending on what you have it will compliment it well if it is to to similar to what you have. By the way what do you have.

I have mim deluxe player's, mim standard, epi les paul standard all very different sounding guitars.

I voted for "Yes".

If you have a Squier, then the Strat you're talking about buying will be a huge improvement on it, and you'll enjoy playing it much more, I think. I say go for it!

You saw you play shred music i don't think the deluxe player's would have the best tone for that kind of music

Terribly sorry, but I have this 'thing' against shredders. Don't take it personally, unless of course you certainly feel inhibited by your Squier, or you play stuff other than shred.

But I think it is a great match.

Well, happy shredding to you - I admire the technical achievement and dedication to practise that this sort of virtuosity requires.. but it's not for me.

As other guys have said, there's much better guitars for this style - maybe a Charvel, Jackson or Ibanez. But it's your guitar, your money and your choice. But no doubt that 'Thingy Marmalade' guy will come and put his Swedish boot up my backside for such heresey as I have uttered - he shreds happily on a Strat after all. Good job Blackmore didn't play a Danelectro, or you'd be having to shred on one of those. (Oops, sorry, did I say that out loud?)

Apologies for the gratuitous Swede bashing..

Deluxe Player has a 12" radius neck that should be fine for playing many things including shred. I`m 50 and I like shred especially when it is tastefully applied to a song context and not just for the sake of showing off a never ending barrage of notes or scales. If it`s good it`s good.

You can play anything on a Strat. Including Shred Metal. You can replace pickups to suit your style of playing. Very easy to do.
