I've been searching for several things I can't find. Thought it would be neat to turn up a picture of BB on a Strat, but if there's one out there I can't locate it. I did find this, though - if you'll excuse an "off topic" moment:

That's close to a Strat.

Try to find a picture of Slash playing a Strat! I know he owns at least one ...

From what I understand Dickey used to play strats until Duanes insisting he switch to the LP. At which time he was rumored to have given is strat to Dan Toler (the very same strat Duane is holding in the 2nd post). After some time Dickey came to own another strat exactly like the one he gave Dan (seems Dan didnt want to give the original back).

Kirk Hamett used strats in the studio all the time on their earlier work.

Now seeing BB holding that tele is quit a shock!

Jerry Garcia was best known for playing his one of a kind Doug Irwin customs. Here he is '72 with the strat given to him by Graham Nash.

He added a strat back into his on-stage line up in '88.

Nice one of Albert King, thanks!

Here's another guy that was only seen with Les Pauls in his "youth": Ronnie Montrose. Remember those couple of great albums with Sammy Hagar? I Got the Fire!

I know Carlos Santana owns at least one - in fact there used to be an instructional video on his website showing how to play "Samba Pa Ti" and he used a strat (and a Cybertwin). I also found a quote from NAAM 2008 where he was pushing the new PRS Santana MD where he said they worked really hard to make it sound just like a strat! Haven't been able to find a picture of him playing one yet and the instructional videos are now off his website.

i watched the Aerosmith video "You gotta move"
and Joe Perry(who has a sig Les Paul) plays a tele
for blues leads in the studio
I know this about strats I just thought that was cool
from what I've heard there alot of people
thet may use one thing live but behind closed doors
when it is time to lay down a good quality track
in the studio they use a fender (hence alot of people sound as good/the same live)

Scott Gorham has put away his Les Paul and now plays a Strat in the Lynott-less Thin Lizzy.

And Gary Moore straps one on now and then and is still effortlessly brilliant.

Although he's sometimes been known to play strats, you usually see this guy photographed with one of his unique custom guitars - here's he's playing a strat and he's without his famous 'cheap sunglasses'.
