Well, bigger frets make bending easier. I once bought a used neck advertised with medium jumbo frets. I thought that meant 6150 or 6105 tall frets, but what I got was 6130, which are even smaller (heightwise) than std Fender vintage 6230 frets! I was disappointed. The 6130's weren't terrible, but not what I wanted.

6105s are narrower and taller than 6150s.

How does fret size affect bending?

My strat has medium frets, my Jackson has jumbos , so I can give you my two cents:
Jumbo frets make it so you don't have to push down as hard on the strings to make the note come out, allowing you to play with a lighter touch. Bending therefore requires less force. Medium frets you have to really dig in when you do a whole step or greater bend. However, if you push down too hard on jumbos it will yield a vibrato effect and make the note sharper the harder you push. It really only comes down to personal preference between the two, and I chose both ^^.

Because your fingers aren't bottoming out on the fingerboard. At least for me anyway.

6230 .080" X .043" This is the smallest fret wire. Vintage Fender necks.
6130 .106" X .036" Often referred to as "Medium Jumbo". Many Gibson necks.
6150 .103" X .046" A true "Jumbo". It is about the same width as the 6130 but a bit taller. Modern Fender American necks.
6105 .096" X .047" Narrow and tall. Our most popular choice!
6100 .112" X .055" Huge! This is big stuff for the almost scalloped feel. Common on Ibanez necks

I have an SRV with 6105s and i really love it.It took me some getting used to .You certainly dont need to dig in as much. One thing that is quite different is doing slides. If you use too much pressure on the fret board it feels like a train track, but once you make the adjustment , its really easier to play.

It depends on what I am playing. I like jumbo and medium/jumbo equally. The next time you find yourself in the music shop, play around with different frets on different guitars. It took me about 30 minutes to decide I liked jumbo frets.

Weird. I got two American Vintage 62's. One has vintage frets. They look small. The other has medium jumbos. They look a little bigger.

I noticed that it is a bit harder to bend on the vintage frets. But the up side is your hand tends to glide across the neck better since there is less metal impeding your hand.

I could always have my tech rip out the vintage frets and install medium jumbos, but I'm not totally sure I want to.

I was accustomed to medium frets for years, but having discovered extra jumbo's (on my ESP/LTD guitar) earlier this year, I became a convert. The fact that H1 strats have larger frets was one of the deciding factors in my buying one of those instead of an American standard.

I am not a big fan of frets bigger than med jumbo. I have two Strats, one with Med Jumbo and one w/ the smaller vintage. I prefer the smaller vintage frets.

I can't see how the jumbos would slow you down even if you sliding down or up the neck.

I haven't found any difference with the jumbo frets in that regard - all I've noticed is that you don't have to press as hard to sound the note.
