The whammy bar will certainly fit. Why wouldn't it? I've got two Callahams with great fitting bars. Did you order the pop-in whammy bar when you ordered the bridge? You don't use the Fender bar, you use the Callaham.

You don't even have to screw it in. It just pops in and your done. You can screw it in if you want.

Hi 357mag: you may have missed this post from maxoom. He pointed out a known problem with Callaham bridge blocks - that Mexican trem plates don't always have their arm hole in the same place, so the block may not fit:

I`m not using my trem so it`s not an issue right now but should I or someone else that buys one want to? Maybe this fits the newer mexi trem hole and not my older one? Seems they keep changing the mexi specs.

Buy the entire bridge/block assembly. It's a great upgrade and if you do some research you will discover that the Callaham saddles are better than what Fender gives you too.

Whatever I get, I am planning on getting a whole new assembly. Can you strip out a pop in whammy bar? I like the idea of not having to screw it in, and I'd like that idea even better if it meant I didn't have to worry about stripping out another whammy bar. Does the Wilkinson Tremolo have a pop in bar or is that a Callaham thing?

Do you mean "can one wear out the pop in mechanism" so that the bar doesn't stay in anymore? I suppose that's possible, but I've never heard anyone talk about that happening.

There's a little bent piece of metal at the bottom of the hole. I don't know if it can be fixed should it stop "popping" properly. I'll have to examine the pop-in block that my American Series Strat somehow left the factory with ...

Texas,
the wilkinson trem has a pop in arm that can be tightened by a grub screw exactly the same way the american deluxe trem is.
