Come to think of it, I never tore down my American deluxe. I'll check it out.

Chuck theres a grub screw at the back of the tremblock that tightens or loosens the trem arm. You can get to it if you dump the trem all the way down. I dont like working on things like that under tension though. I slacken the strings and take the trem springs off to get to it. As you know on the deluxe its no biggie.

BTW leaving the trem arm on in the case is not advised. I've seen a few broken arms from that. It may be ok for a few hours or a day, if your luck holds. Eventualy the stress of the case pushing on the arm is going to break the case or the arm. I know the coming response is 'well its never happened to me'. That just makes you lucky.

Thanks for the advice. This is kinda hard to believe, but I've been playin' a Peavey T-60 since 1986, and have never had a guitar with a trem arm! Anyway, I was raised to take good care of my stuff, and I had already examined & observed that it was not going to be a good idea to leave trem installed while in case. Thanks Again.

No, you ought to pull the bridge apart and mill the top of the tone block smooth with a whetstone. The will yield better resonance and sustain. At the same time you'll get to know the lay of the land. Just be careful and do no force anything and be sure to protect your guitar from scratches with tape and clean rags. Go for it!

The safest place for your guitar when you are done playing for the day is in the case. Humidity can cause serious problems if you leave the guitar out on the stand for an extended period of time.

I found this out the hard way.[/quote]

Yikes!

Many thanks, 357mag. I'll learn from your experience, and put mine in the case! Sorry to hear that you learned the hard way, though.

Thanks again for the tip.

Whoa, dude! How 'bout you send me an old, trashed-out strat that I can experiment with
