Hello,
starting a parts o caster project. would like to know if a clapton neck will fit most any 4 bolt strat body - including am deluxe if the lower screw hole is added. just want to know if i will have any neck pocket issuse. i would like to NOT use a clapton body for the project.

It will fit most Fender, meaning, NOT Squier 4 bolt bodies. It would also fit the Am Dx bodies but the screw configuration would be different.

thanks Martian and BIG J.

i figured this might be the case but i never have a problem defering to those more knowlegable or in some cases those who have made the mistakes for me. take care all and i will continue on gathering me parts.
kinda have always liked the contoured heel. an easy add to any body i may wish to refinish. i cant imagine any negatives on having eaier access up top.

It's always better to be sure, before you buy the parts, then to spend some money, and be wrong.

On the topic of neck and body fitment, I have a few things to add. I have been trying to find a home for a really nice Allparts swf neck for a while for a project guitar. I have purchased several guitars that I wanted to put this nice hard maple/rosewood neck on, but have run into problems. I first bought a 1987 Squire MIJ Strat with a worn maple fretboard. The neck was very small, and the Allparts neck would not fit into the neck pocket without modification. It was too wide for the body. I then bought a 1996 Squire MIC Strat, and tried to fit the neck. The original neck was a baseball bat, and the neck pocket was to big, side to side. the space was too much to live with.
My point is, Fender seems to be more consistent in neck pocket dimensions than there Squire counterparts. When you think that the neck pocket is a "standard Strat size" that does not mean anything. Before I buy another guitar or body for this neck, I will take accurate measurements. I am still looking.
has anybody bought a part from Ebay store Stratosphere??? Are they reliable and trustworthy?? I have seen several bodies I am interested in, but am reluctant to spend more money

I thought the newer Squiers could use any standard Fender parts?
