That certainly is a beautiful looking guitar.

I just bought myself a Highway One Strat last week in the Midnight Wine finish, and it really is a great colour. I never thought I'd buy a red Stratocaster, either - but you live and you learn. Congrats on your new guitar!

:D

Looks more like the candy apple red on that example list.

take a look at the frost red. That is the closest color. It most closely matches it. I need to take a picture with her next to something red. That will show the difference. The candy apple is much brighter then she is.

Thank you

Scot its pretty identical to my two CAR (candy apple red) strats mate. Just that the lighting is dim. The underlying darkness is from the base coat they use to give the metalic finish. Whats the serial no'? Customer services will clear up the colour confusion.

Scot whatever colour it is, its beautiful. Your obviously happy with it and from the photo's the colour appears unusual hatever it is. So its a win/win situation to my mind mate.

The dim lighting has certainly fooled me!

I'd swear it was Midnight Wine based on those photos.

I'll try to post some better pics when I get home from work. Better lighting and with a lighter background.

and yes I am very happy with the color. No Matter what Fender calls it

The CAR is a deceptively reflective colour you can see the different hues between these two.
Image

Simply from the way the light is hitting em and that ones a gold undercoat the other is silver.
Scot's guitar doesnt seem to have that plummy tint that wine red has. Anyway it could all be answered later when we see more pictures. (do you think we should let on that we can perpetuate this for weeks if not months. Just to get him posting more and more pictures, that we enjoy looking at.)

LOL
lookoing at your pics I can tell those are much brighter red then mine. Even on the dark background.

By the way.....why have to guitars of the same color? Not that there is anything wrong with that. They are Strats. So that makes it ok!

I honestly cant choose between the two. I play the rosewood one (custom classic) more, simply because of its bulletproof finish. The 57 hotrod nearly plays itself, blow on the strings and they ring. Its just too easily damaged to leave lying around though.

Wheres the brighter pictures anyway? I wasnt joking when i said i like looking at guitars all day long. I gave mine a good 3 hours staring at earlier. I now need to stare at someone elses.

I'm still at work. I can't post anything until I get home. A couple more hours and I'm on vacation for 10 days! so I'll have plenty of time to spend with my new baby! What ever color she is
