Anyone know why Fender has already dicontinued this model? I just found out what all this model can do and I have become very interested in picking one up.

Why is it being discontinued?
Does it not work as advertised? Not enough interest? Not enough sales?

It was discontinued because of lack of sales. If you look some GC still have them at the blow out price of 999. Strat players are mostly conservative when it comes to their guitars. Most player prefer a strat in its vintage or close to vintage configuration. The majority of guitar players aren't really interested in technilogically advanced equipment. Which is why we still use tube amps etc..

Yes some GC still have them. You can work out a deal since they are not really selling and GC wants to move them out. I know you can talk them down to $799

Wow. That is half of what they were selling for a year ago.

I don't own one, but have played one at a jam and they sound very versatile. A good deal for sure!

'Scored a perfect 3-tone sunburst / rosewood at SA at the $999 and it is an outstanding guitar.

That said, 'rarely use the "batteries in" option and features; it's a perfectly splendid American Standard in its own right, albeit with a bit less wood and a bunch of electronics loaded inside.

I have the same one I scored online @ a Music store somewhere in GA. I got mine mint with all the accessories, plus a G+G Tweed case for 799 shipped.

Search the Forum for the original thread on this. You might be interested in asking Guitar Center if there are any of their FSR Deluxe VG's sitting around unsold. Several of us acquired them through this closeout.

Doc
