Can anybody tell me how to convert a right handed Strat for left handed standards step by step?I want to Hendrix my guitar but I dont know how. How do I set the inotations? Can I use the same nut and just flip it around? Please tell me step by step if anybody knows?Thank You

Welcome to the Forum. I am not a lefty, but I would:

1. have the nut re-cut or buy a new one to be set up for a lefty.
2. I would take the pickup mounts off and turn them around...Not sure if that is really necessary though. You may be able to get away with raising and lowering the treble ad base sides per instruction manual.
3. buy a left handed tremolo bar.
4. reintonate the whole guitar after it is strung up lefty or have it professionally done.

I hope this helps a little and I am sure the Southpaws can guide you in the right direction if I missed something.

This should help with the set up, just do it thinking "lefty". The nut is another matter. If you are good at filing you may be able to use the nut already on the guitar, but if not I would have that professionaly done. The Tremolo bar is for ergonomics, if you are not going to use it, I say just do not put it on.

To do a set up you will need a capo, screwdriver, allen wrench for the saddls, and a guitar tuner. I check the following tones at the following frets:

open string, fith, ninth, twelth, and seventeenth frets. I also ensure the 12 fret harmonic is true.

Good luck...I would love to see pics when you are done. Learning to do it yourself will save you loads of money in the future.

Cooper if you just spent the cash for a RW strat that I would have to believe cost a nice amount, unless you are really well schooled I would have it done right by a pro as I cant believe it would cost as much as you making a bad mistake might. So if you are not tight with someone ask a friend to ask around to someone he might be with to do the job for a fair price.

Sounds like a nice stratocaster hope to see it soon, do you roll your eyes around your head like Hendrix hahahahahahahahaha sorry we are talking about that at the moment and the highs and lows of good and bad sustain as it effects the brain waves and feelings and general guitar playing well being and spirituality

200 bucks seems like a lot. the only real work is replacing the nut and twisting a few screws. you cant turn the pickups around without routing the body and its not needed Hendrix didn't do it That and the reverse angle of the bridge pickup were part of his sound compared to a standard Strat.
