Welcome to the forum Olguy. You'll find this group to be very helppful and encouraging.

I also started back up again at age 57. But I did play for about 7 years in my early teens. So I guess I'm re-cherried? What's nice about being older is you have more discretionary income than when your a kid. I started in January had my original Epi gone over and made playable, bought a electric in February, and just got my EC Custom Shop. Couldn't do that with my paper route money.

Age has nothing to do with being a good player. Just practice and enjoy. I found that playing again has re-invigorated my love for music too.

Welcome, oleguy. I started a little while back at 52. Not making much headway, but having a ball. So it's never too late!

Ah, they say its never too late to start. I'm 58 and learning -- ah, Week 3 of practicing the Ventures version of "California Sun", I can only keep up at 70% of actual tempo... workin' on the 85% tempo version, though, so maybe one day I'll get to 100%.. enjoying every minute of it, though.

Hey, I just saw Dick Dale at a local venue -- he's 72 and still way impressive on guitar...
