I do recall Elliot Easton from the Cars playing a pink strat in the video for Shake It Up. I loved that song and that solo. He was so cool riding in the back of a convertible playing that pink strat. 8)

EDIT: haha check them out, the Cars with two pink guitars!!

Actually, the first Strat I ever owned was a 1960 pink one. It had a pink neck and a pink matching headstock too. I bought it in 1969 from a Fender dealer and friend of my family's who had custom ordered it new from his good friend, Leo Fender, for his daughter. The daughter decided she didn't want to play guitar after a few years and the guitar just sat around collecting dust. I bought it from this dealer/friend for $75 bucks (OEM H/S case included). He offered it to me at this price to, "take it off his hands" as he tried to sell it in his store for several years but no one would buy it due to the whole guitar being pink and because of the, "small, conservative headstock and logo" it had vs. the larger, bolder headstock and logo on the then, new models. I, on the other hand, a mere 12 years old, wanted a Strat so bad, I could care less about the color and the headstock. I bought it with money I had earned from my paper route and shoveling snow around the neighborhood. l'll bet if I still had that guitar today, I could sell it and put a down payment on a new house. Who knew?

But, if you still had that guitar now - would you sell it? Even to make a down payment on a new house?

Call me crazy but ANY guitar I've ever owned I would sell in a heartbeat if the price at the time was too right. As a matter of fact, that's how I came to sell it:

I only had it a couple of months when I was standing in front of a deli with it. A guy got out of his car and came over to me, asking what was in the, "Fender Case". I simply opened the case and showed him. He whipped out $300 cash on the spot and offered it to me as he, "was looking for something just like that for his wife, for Christmas". FWIW, that was the first time I ever saw 'live', a $100 bill, let alone three of them in one shot! I promptly sold it to him and went up to 48th Street (NYC) the next day. I bought a brand new white Strat (Hendrix influence, of course) with HS case for $294 out the door. Even after the round trip carfare, I still had a few bucks left over.

And then, there's whom did I sell THIS Strat to, and on and on!

Hhahaha yes Im sniffing airrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Martian I like your attitude about always selling guitars at the right price but most of us here love our guitars and would probably want to be buried with them so no one gets their hands on them lol. I have 10 now and its really hard to sell any of them but i have started. I even now own INXS lead guitar a custum Ibanez strat owned by Kirk Penguily thats difficult to sell but have a greater attachment to Lonely Boy because he allowed me to meet all of you and even started through Frantic my lounge here thats magic some one should slap me for even putting Lonely Boy on ebay.
