I recently broke a string and obviously had to restring the guitar. But when I was finished, I noticed that the bridge was raised up 45 degrees. And every time I take it out of tune and retune it, the same thing happens. Help me please!!!!!

Sounds like you put a larger gauge set of strings on and need a new setup. Or, you could restring with the original gauge. Probably 9's.

I agree.

Do you know what was on there before, and/or what gauge you're putting on now?

Hi ManUtdR7, welcome to the Forum.

You must have changed all the strings, right, not just one?

And I'm assuming 45 degrees is a slight exaggeration - if not, please post a photo of this remarkable phenomenon!

Anyway. We can carefully describe to you how to perform a set up on your guitar, which is what it now needs - or you can just take it to a good tech for that service.

Are you in the Manchester area (or just an out-of-town Man U supporter)? If so, I'd be curious to hear what kind of job this gentleman might do for you:

Cheers - C
