hello,
after some research on the callaham block and user reviews i have learned that the fender tremelo bars are easy to break due to crap metal they use and once it snaps its hard to get the broken threaded end out sice they usually break at the base.

this has me worried because i like to use it sometimes aggresively and if it is a problem then i know it will be for me. so has anyone experienced this? can i just get the callaham stainless steel bar for a replacement since they say its "indestructible" or do i have to get the block too for the tuff qualities? i dont really care about the tonal qualitites of that block to much but if its there i guess it would be an added bonus.

what do you guys/girls think?

Exactly which model Fender do you have?

I have a 2000 model mexican standard strat and never had any problems out of the tremolo arm, the bridge also had that thin zinc block which never gave me a problem except for maybe sustain issues. My tremolo arm has been to hell and back and never has shown any signs of breaking or bending. I even bent my arm a few years ago so it would be comfortable for me to hold and it's held up fine. Maybe I've just had good luck with mine, but I haven't ever heard of anybody elses breaking.

Probably the only crap metal being used on those bridges is the block, and it's made out of zinc (friggin' pot metal)

I think callahams tremolo arms are either pop in or screw in and to my knowledge their screw in won't fit Fender's low-end blocks, they only fit callaham blocks. They could be different though from the last time I checked. You should be able to find out from their site one way or the other.

well, the bar might only break if you yank really hard back. and if you do that, you might wanna get a floyd rose, cause fender tremolo's aren't designed to do crazy pull ups like floyds are.
