Hi anyone out there,

I'm trying to find some info on the 1957 2007 50th anniversary. It's a translucent kind of cream/baby blue, hard to describe color with gold hardware. Exactly Like a custom shop Mary Kay. I'm a devout Soft 'V' lover

I love this strat better than any I've owned. I have 5 other varieties currently. When I bought it, I went home played it for a few hours called the GC back and bought the last one they had. I play one daily and I haven't even taken the other out of the case. It cost about $1600.

I looked for info at fender and other places but nothing found. Any ideas?

Thanks,,
Keith

Thank You for the find. That is the one. Someone just got very fortunate to have bought that guitar for $915. You wouldn't find better at 4 times that price.

Thanks for helping me out. Very much appreciated.

No problem Keith.

I've long been of the opinion that some are keepers and some are binners whatever they cost (ok theres less binners the more you spend). Looks like you found a keeper, enjoy it.

Guitar Center and Musician's Friend at the end of 2006 bought the remaining stock from Fender at a great price and blew them out for 999.99 with HSC.

Other dealers were price protected and you could avoid the sales tax by buying online.

Sam Ash matched MF's online price and no sales tax.

Thanks everyone. I absolutely agree - rare, special guitars shouldn't be just collector items, PLAY them. The second one in the case is my backkup incase something were to happen to the prime.

I have several really great guitars, I gig or record with them all - 52 les Paul (Trapeze replaced in 70's) I've had since 1973 my main guitar for 20 years I still play it. 1971 ES335 TD play it regularly, Cust Shop Flying V Custom 2nd main guitar, a 100th anniversary ES355 1 of 100 diamonds and 22k gold all over it, I use it quite a bit I bet the other 99 probably have not left their cases. 2 American Delx Soft V strats that I just love and use very often.

Sorry, Just showing off!!! I never had a dime early in my career so I went wild when I did.

There are a few others I also play.

That's wild about the guitar center. I wondered what the deal was. I saw them at $1600 then the $999.99 thing. I was one of the Guitar Center's first customers. I'm from LA. I remember every iteration of their growth to the monster/corporate thing they've become. I still shop there though.

Thanks Again.
Keith

Nice collection. I also did the same thing when I started to earn some disposable dollars.

That 999 57 Strat is one of the greatest deals ever at GC. And they went fast too.

yes they did. If you ever sell yours, let me know. I'll buy that puppy for 1800 easy. always wanted a legit Mary Kaye, even a reissue.
