Well done, sir.

It seems like they tried to jack the prices up and it didn't work. If they went 10% instead of 30% people would have believed it. There was no reason to raise the prices on solid state amps at all. SS amps cost very little to make. Why do you think they replace GDecs instead of repairing them?

Believe me their sales fell. Just like gas and fuel oil. It's supply and demand. The big difference is you can live without a new guitar or amp. The worst thing for any company is to raise prices during a global recession.
They listened to no one but their accountants.

So did you get any basic arithmetic lessons yet?
The Queen is absolutely ecstatic about me, because I am utterly fantastic. I bet the headmaster at the retard academy feels exactly the same way about you.

Easy guys.

orangestrat13 Only 9 posts and you're busting on people? You're not going to get much out of the forum like that. You'll just get ignored. It's best to keep the personal comments to yourself.

Try buying any USA made instrument anywhere else in the world. In Australia an American Standard is $3000 USD. I just bought a Jeff Beck 60th Anniversary strat on ebay for $1650 Aussie Dollars. They retail here for $3600 AUD, approx $4500 USD!!!! I got a bargain. I hope this makes all the whingers in the good ol USA feel better :)

I got my Strat for less than a grand, so I'm not complaining. I think it's just priced right. But I also believe that if you have the time and patience to shop around, you can find a good deal on these Fenders, or any other guitar for that matter.[/u]

Amen to that Vinny, you would have to have rocks in your head....or so much money it wouldn't bother you.
Eric Clapton Artist Series Stratocaster 4,199.00 AUS give me a break.

Hi Vinny and bluesdog88: just wondering whether Matons are significantly cheaper where you are than over my way? Name some models and prices for me to make a comparison, if you feel like it...

Cheers - C

Hi Ceri, were you after a particular model?

Here's a couple of Australian links:

Nah, just curious about the vagaries of international guitar pricing (and trying, like so many others, to make this tedious thread go in a different direction - before the OP comes back to insult us some more).

So by running some comparisons it seems importing Matons all the way to Europe adds a little bit to the cost - but not too much. Appears to work the same in the other direction with amps like Marshalls and Blackstars, too. A small price hike but not OTT.

Curious therefore that you all say that Fenders cost so much more in Australia? Man, so I'd be loading up on Japanese Fenders if I were you!

Anyhow. Tommy Emmanuel has done so much for Maton internationally. I presume you have a few?

Cheers - C
