Imagine a year. The year is 2008. Hard to remember right? Well in 2008 the MSRP for a American Standard Stratocaster was $1,399.99. New and improve saddle and everything. Now in 2009 the MSRP for the same guitar is $1,680.00. Nothing has changed, except the amount of money that comes out of your pocket. Why this $300 increase for nothing? Maybe someone has the answer. Maybe Fender is just getting greedy. :!: :?: :!: :?: :!: :?:
THE ACTUAL PRICE IS ABOUT $1200 DOLLARS.

MF is doing a special on the American Std 995.00 out the door. Don't know anyone paying 1600.00 Maybe for the Deluxe but no way for the Standard. Bought my 2008 Am-Std for 995.00 out the door also.Big difference in MSRP and what people actually pay. 8) Mike

The MSRP is what the manufacture suggests rfeatailers pay. The retailers usually take of like 15% off the MSRP. Just to let y'all know.

Maybe its just a mixture of inflation, the state of the economy, choices made by marketing analysts that are highly educated in their respective fields and still a great price for a fantastic guitar.

I can tell you what it definately is, its definately old news.

I think you have the MIA Standard price mixed up with the MIA American Deluxe. Check again.

Well, if they raise the price, and people pay, then the price is good... if you don't pay... then the sales, specials, "Fender fridays" and price reductions happen.

I think the actual hang tag price on a mia standard is between $1050-$1299 depending on finish and the store.American deluxe is $1600+.
GC might be $50 to $100 cheaper but I would never buy a guitar from them.
The sell price for the new mim standards has gone up from $399 to $550.
I think they are worth it as they have improved the trem block and the neck quality seems way better now as does overall fit and finish.

Who pays the salaries of the people who build your guitar? :? You do!! FMIC is not a Title 19 program, it is private enterprise. 8) Holding the line on pricing of Fender guitars was NOT a campaign promise of the current administration. :P

Have an issue with price...shop around. Every once and awhile you can find a keeper.

Doc

I won't presume to speak for the rest of the "idiots" on the forum, but I for one don't understand your spelling, your punctuation, your sentence structure or the general point you are trying to make. Please be nice or go away. :?

Just so you'd ask.

I understand that your maths is pretty bad. Or is that also due to the missus holding out on you.
