I've got both a modified Blues Driver and an Ibanez TS-9. Before (and after) they were modded I prefered the BD-2. The Boss pedal has a very transparent tone, however it takes on a fuzz like quality when the gain is really cranked. The TS-9 has a huge mid hump (as Nikininja mentioned) that is very apparent as soon as it is switched on. I've never paired either with a solid state amp so I cannot say which would perform better in this application. I guess it depends on what you want in the pedal. Do you want a tranparent overdrive that can act like a fuzz pedal when cranked or do you want an overdrive that will fatten your sound with midrange? Both are quality pedals but if I were to choose only one of them I would keep the BD-2 simply because it is more versatile than the TS-9.
