HI so i have a clasic vibe 50's strat (sick gui!!) but im wondering where it was made and when but this site or any other site cant help me., hoping you guys can so my serial number is : CGS0902151. and on the back of the headstock it says "crafted in china" not crafted in japan. if anyone could help iot would be greately appreciated!

My CV 60 is Crafted in China too. Surprise, that is where they (CV Series) are coming from. It is not a CIJ guitar, but the craftmanship on mine is impeckable. Dollar for dollar a much better guitar than the MIM Fender Standard (SSS). IMO, MIA Fenders better watch out or these guitars will someday surpass their quality too, they already surpass the MIM Standard (SSS).

The Classic Vibes are nice.

Rest assured if they get too close in quality it won't be too long 'til they get regionally restricted, like the Japanese ones.

can't let high quality imports impact the market of the more expensive to produce USA models. a large chunk of price differential has got to be the diference in wages and worker benefits.

Yea if ths guitar was made in the States it would easily run for $700+, which would pay for wage difference and benefits. Of course it would also say MIA, I'd love to see that on a Squier again, but the increased price would have been a deterent for me purchacing it.
