I have one of each, and I like both. A good relic job is another opportunity for artists to show their skills, and I'm a fan of almost anything that encourages that. If I only had one guitar, It'd be shiny and new... and it would stay that way, judging by how well the Strat I bought in '92 is holding up.

Vinnypop... you should bring the body round to my place; the mynahs and bats can crap all over it instead of Mrs mondo's marble café table. Bat-crap Strats could be the next bowling ball finish or Splat-o-caster... :)

Ok I have to ask- what about leaving the body poutside over summer? your climate alone in mid-thirty degree heats will do some ageing do you reckon?

Gday blerties, funny you say that because I regularly leave my Aria acoustic in the sun on hot days to age and wear it out have been doing it for a couple of years and my dad always reminds me to protect the neck from warping but I am taking that risk, it hasnt warped yet. lol

Heh... my old flamenco teacher used to take his guitar out for a few minutes every day to expose it to the sun. I couldn't say if it was intended to simulate the life it should have had in Spain... if so, he was putting in some serious effort substituting spliffs for cigar smoke! Though I guess if it were a true flamenco axe, it would have wound up smashed over someone's head eventually. Sometimes I give mine a little sun in memory of good times... it's a mid-'60s model, so I think it's done all the drying out it's going to do...
