These questions goes out to all you Road Worn owners. Do you like the way the neck feels? Does the guitar appear solidly built? Are you happy with the sound? Does it resonate fairly well?

I would imagine the pots are less smooth and scratchy. Least that's what I discovered when I did a comparison with a Mexican Strat next to my Malmsteen Strat.

I don't own one, but I've played them like crazy at Guitar Center.

So I can only answer the first question. The necks on the 60's Strats feel great! The frets feel really good too, and the neck radius didn't bother me at all. The 50's necks feel more fakey too me. The wear just doesn't feel right and it's a little overdone. The V profile was cool though.

Yes, I like how the neck feels. It actually gets better everytime you play it. It also starts take a more natural relic to it the more you play it...perhaps the dirt and grime accumulating? :) Yes, the guitar appears and feels like it is solidly built. No neck shifting at all, very solid indeed. I'm extremely happy with the sound. The tex mex is surprisingly great sounding to me.... Yes, it actually resonate louder, and fuller acousticly than my Highway One, which is my main axe, and my recently purchased American Standard, the Olympic white with maple board. Overall, it is a great guitar.

Check it out here with my new amp purchase today. Hear the tone...comments are welcome please.

I'm the opposite, I love the 50s Strat even with the fake relic on the back of the neck. It's a little fatter. Didn't love the 60s neck but would have kept my Fender Friday special but it had too many issues so send it back and decided my 50s was good enough (now if I find a perfect white 60s RW at the right price...)

The blonde Ash RW Tele is really awesome. The guitar is fantastic! One small flaw - buzz on G string but I'll live with it. Can't hear it with the amp on.

I'm strongly considering picking up the sunburst 60's model. Why did Fender decide to use lacquer on the body but urethane on the neck?

Probably to keep the price down.

Personally i love the way the neck feels, feels amazing, i prefer it to my american deluxe strat the neck is like a "come and grab on" kinda neck very SRV. I have mine heavily wound and the bridge touching the wood of the guitar to get that really beefy sound. Its a very light guitar but the neck and the pic ups (particularly the neck setting) makes up for it's weight.

I've played the 60s and 50s strats extensively (thanks to friends who made the purchase :) ), and these guitars are solidly built and sound great. I am a big fan of the 50s necks. Resonate just fine. If you don't like the TexMex pups, throw in a set of Texas Specials - a quick trip to heaven via Austin.
