Well my Pro Jr is in the shop for warranty service and I needed an amp just to fill the empty spot in my room where the Pro Jr was. This VOX AC4TV is a Fender Champion 600 Killer, it certainly blows it away. Does not have the boxy tone like the Champ 600 does. Much more versatile as well, specially with the built in power attenuator, so many diferent tones using it compared to the champ 600.

I got a great deal on it as well, less than $200 out the door, sales tax already included.

Here is a rough demo of the AC4TV Combo. I'm extremely happy with the tone. It has that classic british crunch. You can set the attenuator low and crank the volume and get a sweet tone.

Do you like this better than the Champion 600? I was getting ready to buy a Champion 600 ..I didn't realize they were this close in price to the champion 600...How does it work with overdrive or tube screamer type pedals? Also i have a big question that really bothers me what screwed up state do you live in with a 9.72% Sales tax That is just ridiculous....

Oh yes....no question there that I like the AC4TV much better than the Champ 600, but I suggest you try both side by side to see if you would like it as well. I like the fact that I can get a great tube overdriven sound at much lower volume using the AC4TV power attenuator. The 10" has three settings, 1/4, 1, and 4 watt. There is also a 8" speaker verson which is a little cheaper and about the same size as the Champ 600. The AC4TV is excellent with varioius overdrive and distortion pedals. I did a youtube demo of the amp showing this and showing various watt settings. Check it out here,

Tell me what you think....comments are welcome.

Oh the crappy state I live at with the crappy sales tax is California. This is why I always haggle for deals to offset the cost of the practically 10% sales tax.

That's great dude. I too was thinking of something like a Champ 600 or Epiphone Valve junior but even at just 5 watts you still get a LOT of (neighbour annoying) volume if you want to play with that tube break-up. The power switch looks like the way to go and that VOX amp just looks SO cool also.

Thanks for the info and vids. Cheers!

I have the Epiphone Valve Junior combo (slightly modded). It does get plenty loud, but, boy, it sounds nice at 70% and up. I sometimes run it through a Marshall cabinet and a guy could easily do a gig with that set up.

One knob (volume) is perfect too! I don't know how the 600 compares since it's a different power tube and the circuit's probably different.
