Ok Folks I could use a little help. When I bought the green strat plus above I was told it was sea foam green. After searching through a few other threads and checking google images I am of the opinion it may or may not be bahama green. Looking for the experts (Xhefri) or someone else to offer up their opinion if they would. Any help would be appreciated.

One the last picture I cast my vote for Bahama Green. Are the picts of the two green guitars the same guitar shot in different lighting situations or two separate guitars?

Both pics are of the same guitar in slightly different light.

This looks like Bahama Green to me. You have some nice guitars in that photobucket!

I know some of you love these old Plus colors. Here is a fairly nice Graffiti Yellow Plus body I picked up. Have a pretty clean matching Maple Neck for it as well. Very clean except on nasty ding on the top of the upper horn. The seller did not disclose this. But overall a very nice guitar when put back together!

I think I was watching that same body on ebay, was loaded right? I had a 87 maple strat plus neck I was going to put on it, but it sold for more than I usually pay for a whole strat plus lol.

Looking at it closer looks like it might be a different body than the one I was watching.

There was a silver burst Strat Plus body I was saw at the last minute on ebay last night, sold for like $34, but it had a look of cracks in it. Would of made a fun project though.

This sold as a complete guitar. i got it for cheap and it would have been a terrific score if they would have disclosed the ding. Came with EMG's whichbibwill sell off. Btw the EMG's sounded great!

A few posts back i showed a Graffiti Yellow Strat Plus body. Well I cleaned her up, gave the neck a crowning and a polish and put her all back together. Man the guitar plays sweet. I was really surprised as it took almost no adjustments to get the strings to lay low and not fretting out! This is a 1991. I have seen 9and owned) these both with Rosewood and Maples necks, BUT it does seem the Maple necks are more common on the Graffiti Yellow for some reason .

Jeff Beck used a Graffiti Yellow Plus like yours, except that axe (possibly a prototype) sported a rosewood fretboard instead of a maple neck.

Since we are on the subject of Jeff Beck and the Graffiti Yellow Strat Plus' AND because this thread is in honor of the Strat Plus Series i want to share a bit off my website about the Jeff Beck Story (and Myth). :?

The very 1st Strat Plus models that showed up on Fender's "price lists" were dated for sale March 1st, 1987. But in fact they never became available till a few months later because of a short supply of certain components and for certain "marketing reasons." A. R. Duchossoir points out, in his book called The Fender Stratocaster, the reason for this "marketing" delay:

"A few months earlier (before March, 1987), JEFF BECK had asked Fender to make him a `62 Vintage model painted in the same yellow color as the souped-up Ford truck featured in the movie American Graffiti. The company obliged but seized the opportunity to talk Jeff into having a namesake Stratocaster model. The STRAT PLUS prototype was therefore put together with Jeff Beck in mind, hence its yellow finish christened Graffiti Yellow. But Beck (temporarily) turned down Fender's proposal and the first Stratocaster with Sensors came out as the STRAT PLUS."

Funny thing is, some people get a Graffiti Yellow Strat Plus from 1987-1988 and think it is a Jeff Beck proto-type! There was never a Jeff Beck proto-type on the market!

In 1990 Jeff Beck finally took up Fender's offer and they released the Jeff Beck Signature Strat Plus. Amazingly, it did not come in Graffiti Yellow! The non-Custom Shop JB Strats were released in Vintage White, Surf Green and Midnight Purple!

Custom Shop JB Strats were offered in the same colours as the regular Artist versions and Mystic Black (pictured below). These guitars were made exclusively for him.

Jeff was seen with his Midnight Purple axe (made at the Custom Shop) on many several occasions during the early 1990s (Mustang Sally w/ Buddy Guy [1991], All Stars Jam at the Apollo Ampitheatre [1993]).

His last appearance with the CS Midnight Purple guitar dates from 1993.

Hi guys !

New to the forum, thought I'd share two pics of my '97 Ultra. Bought it in 2001 from a friend who had brought it back frim the States two years earlier. He wanted to keep only one guitar, he decided to keep his LP and to sell the Ultra.

At the time I had some money and was looking for a good guitar, honestly wasn't really looking for a Strat, but as he said he would to sell it to me at a good price I gave it a try...I was sold after just a few minutes, super silky neck, great variety of tones, great look.

At firs I didn't even really know about this model, I thought it was some kind of Fat Strat, then another friend saw it and told me it was some special model that wasn't made anymore and that they were reputed to be very good quality instrument.

I've learned a lot more since about Strats in general, and I'm very happy that I bought this one in the end. I play a lot of different styles and this guitar is really what I need. I like the Lace pickups even if I read a lot of mixed feeling about them.

Anyway, here it is ;)

Welcome to the Forum! Lots of great people on here. Really nice Ultra. Have you put it under bright light, like in the sunlight or a halogen light? I am 90% sure this is Mystic Black. It would be a black base coat with a clear coat containing a fine green/blue pearl. Under bright light the pearl will show up. Fender used that on the Ultras around this year. Very cool color. Thanks for posting!

Hi Xhefri and thanks for your reply. Your website has been my primary Ultra source info, you make some amazing work on those guitars ;)

Going through this post earlier I came another post showing that Mystic Black, so I intended to check if mine is in that colour. It has always looked like plain black to me, but I've never looked at it close in bright light, so I might come up with another nice surprise 11 years after buying it :P

It looks like my Mystic Black. Direct sunlight will show the metal flake in it if it is.
