Yep no email notifications here either.

Anyone know anything about this variation on the Wilkinson Nut that is found on the Ultra? I've read almost every article online about them when trying to figure out how to prevent the high e and b string from buzzing but never once came across a normal nut sized Wilk. Hopefully this link stays active enough for everyone to check it out. Were these ever standard on any Fenders?

I have seen those type of Wilkinsons being sold before, but never seen one of them come stock on a guitar.

I have never seen those types of Wilkinsons nuts before. Very interesting. Wonder if they fit in the place of a standard nut?

Sure wish I would get email notification when someone posts on a thread that Ipost on. How can we fix this problem!!!

I've seen them one other time on Ebay, someone was selling 3 brand new ones, don't remember what they went for though. Those ones didn't have the string tree though.
That's a weird string tree, would like to see what it looked like on the guitar.

It lists the size of the nut, but I don't know off hand what size the standard one is.

Hi folks!First time poster. It's great to see a forum of people who love the Strat Plus series of guitars.I've loved the Strat Plus since I played my first one.Love everything about them and especially love the sound of the Lace sensors!I know some people don't care for them but I love the kind of compressed sound you get from the the gold ones.
My number one now is a 1991 model.(Pictures below)I was wondering if anyone here might have a spare original Wilkinson nut?I'm having a slight problem with My E(1st)string.The intonation is voicing a bit flat when up around the 12th fret and the saddle is flat out all the way forward.I'm sure it's the nut.I have a brand new(unused)chrome wilkinson nut but it's for gauge 9 strings and I use 10's.Any help is much appreciated. Many thanks.

Nice guitar. Is it pewter? Hard for me to tell from the pics. I have a pewter one also if it is.

You can try here, I bought a chrome one from them a few months ago.

Funny, I've wanted to get a Gun Metal Blue strat plus with a maple board. Bid on a few on ebay, and looked at some locally, but they usually ended up going for more than I wanted to pay, or were in worse condition than I wanted.

I've had about 6 strat plus and an Ultra, and a strat plus deluxe, so I have a few different ones posted in this thread.

Hey Jason, I have an 89 strat plus pewter with rosewood neck. I noticed that STRATPLUS91 mentioned that his wilkinson nut only accepts 9's. I thought that the wilkinson accepted 9's and 10's. Is there a difference between the fender/wilkinson and the wilkinson. I have always had 9's on mine and yesterday I picked up some 10's to try out.

I've used 9's and 10's on mine no problem. I'm guessing that it came stock with the 10-46 nut, so you could fit 9's on it it also.

Sounds like the spare chrome one he has is a 9-42 kind, which gets a little tight when you get to the wound strings.

Yeah that's right Jason! They usually came installed with the 10-46 nut which is what I have installed but the spare I have is a 9-42 as you say it won't take the heavier strings!

Since the 10-46 nut handles 9's do you know why they make a 09-42 nut? I wonder if there is a problem with using the 9's in the 10-46 nut. I seem to get a little buzz on my B string and I am using 9's with the stock nut.

Heres my 1988. I bought it new in March or April of 1989. I got it for my birthday, which is March, for myself.

I went to a store a did quite a bit of business with. I went in about October or November to see what thay had for Strats. I was going to Lay it away so I would have it for my B-day.

Well as many of you may know. Stores had to stock and buy certain and so much stock to maintain dealer levels and therewith access/discounts.

My friend who owned the store asked me if I would buy one of the plus' models. He said he would order and I could do lay-away. That way he was ordering and actually sold a plus. He sold it to me near his cost so I went for it.

All I asked was NO white,Red or Black. The burst and other fancy finishes were more money so a solid like a blue or yellow would be great. He said,"I'll get what I can"

Well I put a down payment on it and went my way before I started spending more I didn't have.

A couple trips to the store over the next few months saw nothing of the plus'. He told me they were on there way. Cool, off I go.

Well either March or April of 1989. I am in for strings and what not. I had resigned myself to getting the guitar after my birthday. I go to the counter to pay for my stuff. The owner is not there but a young kid he had hired.

We get to talking about things. I mention I am waiting for my Strat Plus. He says they got a few in a few days before. Well heck find mine, please. I show him my receipt and off he goes. He returns with a...WHITE one. He says this must be mine as the others have names on them. I wanted my guitar. So I Paid it off and took it home. I found out later that the owner was waiting for a couple more solid color ones and one of them would have been mine. He said he got a green and a root beer brown. I could have had my choice. Well Darn. Oh Well I got it and I still have it. Here she is.

Oh and I didn't buy Vintage white. The body was closer in color to the pickguard. It aged, it even has stains in the finish on the bottom. I say its from the stands rubber legs. A friend Of mine at Fender years ago said it was leeched color from the furry inside of the case. I said why is it only on the bottom edge? Well whatever, its there and its still a great guitar.
