ha no I haven't tried sitting on it. The 2 springs are pulling the tremolo all the way to the wood...I ordered a normal spring claw that I might install here soon along with some highly recommended springs. I don't plan on using the Trimsetter so it might be the way to go anyways.

Do you think laying the guitar down flat and faceup with weight on the middle of the neck would be more efficient than using the guitars body weight the way I have it suspended in the mattress/boxsprings?

You are venturing into unentered territory! I would never make any of these kind of recommendations! Let me know how your experiments work! Wish you were closer so I could feel how the truss rod turns.

I am a big fan of the Strat plus (esp. the late 87-93 models). Tell me why you prefer them over any other Fender. Which in particular do you have? I am obsessed with this model and want to read about and see yours. Post pix if you got 'em :D

I got one........1992 MIA strat plus. It is my main, I love it. I don't know much about it, my dad bought it new. I inherited it in 2007. I just found out that it is not just a MIA standard, it is a PLUS!!!!!! It is maroon, I'm not sure whatt the actual color is called, but it is stock, all stock! Pearloid pickguard, tons of tones, plays like a dream, my dad messed w/ the pickups, but I beleive left originals in. I was reading this forum and looking at the pictures and they looked just like mine!!!! So I changed my sig to strat plus. This is a killer axe, I have always liked it because it was my dads! this has helped me ID this guitar! It had all those extras on it. The different hardware and everything, and just seemed like a little more, cuz it was!

Pearloid pickguards didn't come on the Plus, but did come on the Strat Plus Deluxe.

Hey Mr Jason, have not seen ya on the Forum much! You must be like me, busy this summer. Anyhow, some Plus' did come with the pearl pickguards, on some models after 1995-6. I have a really nice stock CAR Strat Plus from 1996 that has one I am shipping off to OZ next week. Owned several over the years.

This was one of my ebay pics. I need to take more. I can't catch the green metal flake - even in the direct sunlight.

This was in the garage.

Direct sunlight...it could just be my (lack of) photography skills or the iPhone.Image

Try bouncing your camera's flash into the ceiling creating a very large light source. That should reveal any blemishes as well as the true color.

Okay, so I looked up strat plus deluxe, It comes with a pearl guard, but it also had lace sensors in it, and mine has american STD. I think. Why do you suppose that is, maybe it was just swapped for a pearl guard......I am kinda lost now.

Deluxe Pluses usually came with locking tuners, Floyd Rose trem and an LSR Roller Nut, with certain models in Olympic White and Natural having a tort guard instead of an aged white pearloid.

The finish looks much like Mystic Black.

I've seen a couple of Custom Shop Jeff Beck Strats finished in that colour many years ago.

I am assuming Mystic Black - based on what I have read on Xhefri's Guitars. It looks black, but is really a dark green with metal flake. Beautiful...

yeah vacations and what not. Still read the forums, just haven't posted a lot. I was up not too far from at the end of May. We were supposed to go on a Disney cruise out of Vancouver, but my wife had some medical issues the day we were supposed to leave so we spent the week in Washington, Bellingham and Seattle area.

Random question for you guys. I was talking to my dad and he mentioned that he saw someone selling a Strat Ultra on ebay with a set neck...like through the body neck. Did these ever exist or could they have been some sort of CS ultra? I've never heard of them before.

Also on a semi related note, he also mentioned seeing a telecaster Plus with an ebony fretboard. I just bought a nice Don Grosh guitar off ebay but the neck isn't quite what I'm wanting....I've had my eye on a Tele Plus for a while but that dang guitarist from Radio Head has made the prices go out the roof! An ebony version would be pretty sweet

The Fender Stratocaster book by A.R. Duchossoir has a pic of a set neck guitar that looks like an ultra. I don't know if the fretboard is ebony though, cause the photo is in black and white. It doesn't say if it was a CS model or just a retail model so I don't much more about it.
