I have seen the guitarist play a strat plus in a video years back- but I cannot find any evidence to suggest it anywhere. It sure sounds like a Plus with Gold Lace Sensors...

Does anyone know? because that is the most stratty sound I have ever heard

Everything I could find looks like standard Strats! When I first heard this I though it might be a Jazzmaster like used on surf music!

When I first herd this song, it was on a radio years back and all this time I thought it was Roy Orbison! His style it seemed like. Was surprised to find out otherwise!

Chris Isaak is the biggest Gibson hound known to mankind. He probably used a ES-345 with a Bigsby on it. Oh yeah turn up the reverb and digital delay and you can get his sound. I love my Ultra tho, but it could do that sound easily.

I grew up in the Bay Area and so a few of his shows. His lead guitarist back then always played Strats. I have a clip of him on the tonight show on a video tape somewhere, doing songs from his first album. I think the lead guitarist was playing a white strat. It's been a long time since I watched it though.

I think you're right, but this guy uses a Strat with normal pickups in this clip:

Yeah its stock and I still play it occasionally. It is now my Road guitar. Love those Bill Lawrence pickups, too. In Silverburst:

How do you like switching the pickups? Really awkward for me. i mean, I go to solo and have to turn my wrist like, outward to turn that chicken knob and get it to like #2 or #4!!!! The tone is pretty good....

I don't bother changing pickups. My pedalboard usually helps for leads. But my ability to change pu's is severely hampered by the 6 point switch.

Just for redirecting this thread back to the original subject, here's my Ultra in FireStorm Red:

This Strat Plus (not mine) has a very unusual plaid graphic finish.

I don't think Fender released a "Chav Strat" in the 1990s, but this bird is chok full of Blues Saraceno vibe!

I bought a strat plus case today for $15. :) not in great shape, but it's in good shape.

It had a snap in tremolo arm and a volume and tone knob in it too, but I don't think the arm is for a Ultra, which what the guy said he had in it before he sold his Ultra. I'm not sure what kind of guitar it's from. I'll have to post a pic sometime and see if anyone knows.

Jason, here are the two different types of Trem bars used on the Plus and Ultra. First is pop-in type and the second standard screw-in type
