Enjoy your 'inalienable right' and hope that SCOTUS doesn't agree to hear a case challenging same.
As for Jeff...he'd better not smoke those Plus's. 8)

Hi Calimero,
I also own a 1990 Strat Plus in gunmetal blue with a maple neck! I bought it new and it still plays and looks beautiful. I have never seen another one until yours -- I have only seen ones with a rosewood neck. Those don't look as good IMO. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have over the years! Cheers.

Steve

Wow, looks like you really took care of it, it's a beauty! I agree that the combination of Gun Metal Blue and maple neck is very nice, I hadn't seen any other like that before too, but as I said Pluses are not very common around here for a start. I'm really enjoying it, it plays like butter and I relly love the tones I get from the Gold Laces! Same feel as my beloved Ultra but with new tones, I couldn't be happier! And I always wanted a Strat with maple neck too...

Hi folks. The high E string Schaller Locking tuner on my strat plus is really loose. The nut on the front on the headstock is as tight as it can go but still it wiggles and moves about.
I was playing a really tight gig and managed to knock it and it's caused something to loosen?
Does anyone know what else could need tightened? As far as I'm aware there is no screws at the back, only the threading for the locking mechanism?
It's really affecting the tuning and I just hope I've not damaged it.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Are you saying the tuner itself is physically loose? If so you need to tighten the small nut on the face of the headstock, not the knob on the back of the headstock. If you are saying the string is now slipping through the hole, then that is a different issue. Let me know which it is you are dealing with.

Thank you for your reply.
Yes the actual machine head is loose but the nut on the face of the headstock is as tight as it can go but it is still loose and wiggles when you touch it.
I really hope I've not damaged it.
What do you think?

If that be the case, pull the strings out of the E and B and take those tuners all the way off and compare and examine. It should tighten down by turning that nut unless it is cross threaded. But at least if you take those two off you can get an indeed what might be going on. Then if everything looks ok, and you cleaned the threads, then put the B where the E was and the E where the B was and tighten. Use a long socket and not a pair of channel locks or crescent wrench! A 10mm socket fits. I have seen people scar the face of their head-stock and make scratches on the nut and washer using the wrong tools!

Xhefri - I have a problem that I'm thinking you might be able to help me with. I have a 1994 Fender Strat Ultra that has Shaller bright chrome machines. I've lost one of the circular tuning lock thumb screws. I've tried different ones but they don't work. I need one that has a solid back and the a single hole. Also, the flange around the hole on the ones that I have are too low... I need one with a taller shoulder.

In advance, thanks for your help.
