Seems like we have deviated from the "Strat Plus" topic to some sister-related Lace loaded guitars!  ....

What we need here are nice Strat Plus Build Pics! :D

Xhefri, whatever happened to your build with the beautiful Warmoth chambered body?

Hey danagos, I finished it a while back was too lazy to post it on the Forum. I have another one in the thinking process. Also some other ones are the same kinds I have done previously. Just not sure that there is that much interest on the Forum to go through the work of posting a step by step custom build. Anyhow here are some picts. I went a pretty different route on this build. Chambered Mahogany body with a nice Curly Maple top. Has a newer Deluxe Strat neck with a LSR roller nut:

Thanks for taking the time to post those pics, it's beautiful, such a nice top! Did you get to select the wood?

You wrote, "Just not sure that there is that much interest on the Forum to go through the work of posting a step by step custom build.".

You're kidding, right?

I know that your build pictorials are hugely appreciated.

And also a huge P.I.T.A. Not only slowing down the work, when you can find time for it, but distracting your focus as well.

I, for one, hope to see more and thanks for all you've done.

Beautiful guitar! :P

Well, why not making a Floyded variant with an HSH configuration and backrouted controls?

Hey Chrome, I have thought of the back routed controls many times. One thing I have a hard time dealing with is how the pickups mount on a back-routed. They use a simple Strat pickup route on the top and then you put the pickups in you can see the unsightly edges of the pickups and mounting screws. I just struggle with that and want to come up with a way to have a back-routed body and a type of finish ring around the pickups. Thinking about it though. U have not had a lot of time to do much with guitars lately, as ZZ knows!

That guitar would look much better with chrome metal dome knobs and selector tip to match the lace chrome domes! :P

Looks pretty similar to a Custom Shop American Contemporary Strat, except John's own creation uses only two knobs for master volume and tone.

Have a second look at Ceri's guitar project for that.

Here's a mid 80's MIJ Westone (Matsomoku) Pantera X-275 in Cherry Burst with back routing that I once owned.

It was a pretty elegant looking guitar and the blacked out interior worked pretty well with the single coil mount.

It would have looked a lot better with one of these in black around each SC Pup:

Now you have given me something to think about. I almost thought it a sin to cover up some of the most amazing maple flame top with a big ol'pickguard! Thanks!

Search "Touching Up Nikininja's Body", pg 95. But that guitar suffers from the issue you seek to avoid. Sorry. :?

Remember...Andy put all the projects into one reference thread? Dummo mee found it and neglected to write it down. It ought to be reposted for anyone who hadn't seen it yet.
