I got my Candy Apple Red Strat Plus put together, it's more of a parts plus. Has the neck and loaded pickguard from a 91 and the body is a 95.

I don't suppose you'd be interested in selling your Strat Ultra?

Hi mate, you know Ive learnt lessons in the past with regard to selling guitars and having 'sellers remorse' regretting to this very day. Im not going to part with this one :D
I do appreciate your interest though- im flattered that you live so far away- thanks, but she's not for sale. :D

You may like to notice that I live in New Zealand- these things donot come up here often- I probably have one of a few, especially of that year. Im not even going to suggest ship/air frieght a guitar 18,000kms- and for the cost of an airfare- you may end up finding one in your area for much less

Another thing- Im going to pull the neck off and try to get a clue as to when this guitar was made- not yet though guys as Ive recently put a new set of strings on, Ill play 'em for a bit before I start to do a biopsy :D

Sorry for my ignorance, but I wonder what the distinction between Strat Plus Model and Strat Ultra Model?

Check out: http://xhefriguitars.com/page4.html to see what an Ultra is.

and then compare with: http://xhefriguitars.com/page2.html to see what a Strat Plus is.

I saw this thread was about Fender Ultras, but I saw most people were talking about the Strat Plus series.

If you want to see some cool mods of the Strat Plus, similar to an Ultra, but not, check out: http://xhefriguitars.com/page5.html

This is a small sample of some of them over the last few years.

It was for fans of both, just like me. I need an Ultra to match my Plus.

Also Xhefri, if you go to the beginnning of this thread, I posted a picture of mine. What is the color called? I have read "blackburst," something with the word chocolate, etc. It is not on the Fender color chart. It's the same as the Venture models but more burst and less black. I looked on your site and didn't see one or a description that seems to match it. It has an E 9##### serial number.

Do ya have any picts? 95 CAR bodies are a bit rare. Fender issued some when they first started the Plus series in 87-90, then they were pretty rare till 96 (supposed 97) when the listed CAR as an official listed available color. CAR was not listed in 87-90 as a color you could buy, but then there were quite a few colors out there back then that were not listed! 8)

Thanks mojoredfoot. Yeppers, I saw that. If I am looking at the right guitar. The very first one on this thread?? Right? Really nice guitar and one of my favorite colors. It is called Mystic Black. It is a semi transparent black burst.

Also, that is a Strat Plus Deluxe and not an Ultra as Ultras have 4 Lace Senors (Dually in the bridge) with a 3-way mini toggle. (check out my website: http://xhefriguitars.com/page4.html to see. It is a common mistake to think the nice transparent finishes that show the Ash laminate through is an Ultra... Mystic Black is more rare than many of the common colors floating around. I have a nice body in that color I hope to customize some time down the road!

Have fun picking!

Xhefri, I'm glad you found this thread. Thanks for finally clearing up my color question. I bought that guitar April 1999 and never really knew what to call it.
I love your site. For me, it is better than porn. My wife always brags that she never sees me on the computer looking at other women, I'm always drooling over guitars.
