[quote="Xhefri"I explain a lot about the Candy colors on my website here: http://xhefriguitars.com/page2.html#C13 and scroll down to the section entitled: Candy color complications. Lots of interesting info there based on the technical side of the finish work.[/quote]

I hadn't seen that page before, must be part of your new information.

It's great to see ALL the Plus colors and add to the wish list! (Taos Turquoise, check, Icestorm, well...)

Thanks for the url and all your hard work.

Thanks Xhefri, that's my '93 Candy Apple Red Strat Plus restoration project. I came across a set of vintage Fender Lace Ultra Pickups and really went to work.

I have a thread on here somewhere about it: http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=84582

That was a year ago, and you gave me invaluable help finding the proper pickguard at Chandlers. Even more so in wiring the Ultra Pups correctly.

It's a great guitar, NOS neck, new Tuners, Nut & Bridge. Only the body, which I bought secondhand, shows player wear. The pickups are everything you said/wrote they would be.

Once again, thanks for your help and insight getting it put together the right way!

This is what's under the hood:

Are replacement roller nuts (genuine Fender) easily available?

Dear Ian, if you are asking about Wilkerson Nuts, they are very hard to find. I see them pop up, most of the time used, on eBay. Interesting that they have them there in Scotland! But is guess Wilkerson is a British chap, so I can understand a few being up there in your area! What kind of price are they asking in pounds???

I have some Wilkinson nuts.

They are not old and worn out.

They are new in the package with 2 screws and 3 shims each.

They all will fit .10's

I opened up all of the packages and have them in a little bag with a little Remington gun oil on them.

Two finishes available for the Pluses were offered on the two former Yardbirds' signature axes: Taos Turquoise and Mystic Black.

These finishes remain "unauthorized" by the artists themselves.

Ah ha! I thought I had seen that guitar before! Nice job. It is pretty tricky wiring. I was playing my Vintage White Ultra Custom build last night. Man what a mouthful! LOL!

Nice Strat, Silver Burst is the actual color name I believe. I looked at some of your other photos and I have a pewter Strat Plus just like yours.

wleeds nice plus you have there. Its just a minor preference but I prefer that style of
headstock font, by 94/95 when mine was made they had reverted to the older font goodness knows why lol.
