I've sent you some info via email about a stripper wearing diamonds which might help you gauge your nuts.

LOL...I never even put 2 + 2 together... I should have asked you way back when!

To be more precise, there were several types of diamond abrasives used and perhaps still are. They were used primarily to 'strip' the contacts between teeth so that they could be rotated or their positions condensed. There were diamond discs mounted on a mandrel with a protective guard. They were used in a dental handpiece to make the first cuts in the preparation of teeth for crowns and inlays before the advent of ultra high speed air turbine driven instruments. There was one strip, in particular, rectangular in shape, like the old Schick Injector razor blades, that fit in special holder, held between the thumb and index finger. That was also a stripping instrument for a variety of applications. Dental instruments have found a host of other applications which I deem most interesting. I know you have quite a collection of those in your shop.

Yeppers, I have an array of dental tools and use them for wiring guitars and other applications. When I was a kid I threw onein a fit of rage at my older sister during a argument. It stuck in her ear lobe....right when my dad walked in the room. I was like 6 years old (dental tools go way back with me). My dad proceeded to thrash my ash.... and I had it coming.

"Spare the rod and spoil the child".....Take that to church with you this Sunday. The topic is current AND controversial.

Just curious, if Fender did come out with some type of Strat Plus reissue, they would probably only do a few colors, so wondering what's everyone top 3 colors you would pick if it were up to you?

I think Fender have already attempted to make a pass with the new American Deluxe Strat Plus...

But if they actually did make a decent attempt at resurrecting that guitar, my colours would be:

Pewter
Carribean mist
Torino red or Crimson Burst...

I'd also be debating Razz Berry, ice blue metallic and Taos Turqoise..

And I'd also suggest Candy Tagerine as a new colour...

:)

Yeah I'm just playing what if ;)

Mine would be Gunmental Blue, Pewter, and maybe Ebony Frost, but I might save that last one for a Strat Plus Deluxe Reissue ;)

The chief common thread between the new and the old Plus series is a new idea in electronics. In the 80's it was the introduction of the Lace Sensor pickup. Today it's a module which changes the pickups' characteristics and and their configurations. IMHO there's nothing new to be gained by going retro with a production model. Any player can take their favorite guitar and retro fit the pickups, tuners, and nut to Strat Plus/Ultra specs and, with the expanded line of Lace Sensors, the possibilities are many.

I agree Doc. If they do a reissue it has to have Lace Sensors. My favorite reissue colors? Graffiti Yellow, Torino Red, Gun Metal Blue, Surf Green, Bahama Green, man I could go on and on. I just did pick up a nice Torino Red and a Bahama Green Plus. Pretty hard to find these days.

Diffent animals compared to their late 1980's ancestors, hardware and electronics-wise; the big noticeable change is the addition of a solderless wiring card allowing three distinctive wiring schemes from three different guitars.

They already brought back Mystic Black for the American Deluxe Strat Plus HSS.

If I got one, I'd be throwing in a set of laces and keeping the personality cards setup..

Just would like more of a colour choice :)

It could be a circuitry you might not want to mess with. The owner's manual on my VG Strat is very clear about mucking around inside that guitar.
