Hi everyone, new to the site, and hoping you might be able to help me.

I've recently bought a special edition Grafitti Yellow strat. When I checked the serial number they told me it's a 2001 guitar that only came in Coral Metallic.

I've verified that the guitar is authentic Fender, and have been doing loads of research online and I spoke to a rep at Fender also.

They've said that there was a special ed Grafitti Yellow American Strat (made especially for AIMM) that came out in 2002 and they sent me the specs ... this seems to match up exactly with my guitar.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Or if you know if the guitars I'm talking about, any pics? I've searched the net and can't find one?

Also, are all of the speical edition decals on the guitars the same?

Sorry it's kind of a long one ... but any help would be great.

Thanks

I can remember a Grafitti Yellow Strat that was out in the time frame you are speaking of. I cant remember what it was called, but the one Im thinking of had a button that would boost the mids when it was engaged.
I believe it was available in 2 colors, one being the Grafitti Yellow. I think it was called a Powerhouse Strat.

Thanks for the replies ... will post some pics when I get home from work :D

Have looked into the guitars you guys were talking about, but the guitar I've got is a special edition which only seems to be identical to the one designed by Portland Music Company for AIMM.

Fender only have the basic specs for this guitar, as they don't keep pics etc on the special eds (well that's what they told me).

They also haven't been able to say for sure if it's possible that the serial number which I've got could be a different guitar to what shows on their system, as both guitars which they quoted were special eds :(

According to their system, my guitar should be coral metallic, but then that guitar didn't have the special edition decal on the back.

I really appreciate all the advice and help.

Thanks

That is a very cool color guitar ..I have an old Aria Pro SL3DLX that is almost the exact same color...Most of the time those Strats with all the letters attached to a model is made for a music association ..Or a Chain of music store belonging to a group that had a commemorative model made...
