i have been playing the green highway one since 2003, but recently in a trade i recieved this '97 ebony and gold les paul studio.

i was going to sell it and get fretwork done on the strat, but now i think it's grown on me. it's got thumb screws for string height adjustment and thats sweet! heavy as hell though.

i need to get a black pickguard, gold pickguard bracket, black toggle washer and gold toggle cap. and a hardshell case. it will be fun trying to scrounge for these parts on craigslist and such. all new ordered from MF is around 50 and they dont even have the right toggle cap. if anyone wants to sell some spare parts, sweet!

this plays like a dream the strat does too but it's pretty fretted out ain some spots and two frets have deep cuts in them. probably from someone dropping it (like me?)

Nice Gibson. Any thought to changing out those knobs for some old school gold Gibson top-hat knobs? I think that would look amazing.

those would like nice!

i just want to make it all stock. you'd think people would have alot of left over stock parts. i like that it's sleek and black, don't want to add too much flare, it might take away from those shiney pick up covers.

Very nice.

It's funny how stock parts are hard to find. But i imagine a lot of people are like me, drawers with carefully bagged and labeled parts, just in case i ever decide to restore it to stock, which i have never done, even once.

The highway one is Green? I need to adjust my laptop i guess, it looks blue to me, I'll have to compare on the desktop monitor.

Let me check 'the archives' and get back to you. I think I have everything you require but the case. I do know that I have the suggested gold, "flying saucer" knobs.

thats fine haha i like the black ones anyway. just want to get it back up to stock.

i was doing some finishing touches to it today. seems like whenever i change the strings to any guitar its a 2 day process of little tweaks while everthing decompresses. i can get pretty obsessed.

let me know matian! im interested, we can work out something

What took me so long?

I have EVERYTHING. Specifically:

- A Gibson Les Paul Custom PG (that's the 5 ply B/W/B/W/B) in excellent condition.
- A Gold Gibson PG bracket in excellent condition except for the screw which mounts the pickguard to the bracket, it is really tarnished. I'll keep searching in hopes of finding a better one but I can't promise I'll find one. Of course, it comes with the lockwasher and nut.
- Two brand new gold Gibson screws, one to mount the pickguard and one to mount the bracket onto the guitar.
- One new, black Gibson toggle cap.
- One black R/T washer with gold lettering. This one, I'm not sure if it is Gibson or aftermarket but I'm pretty sure it is a Gibson.

I hope you are in the US as I don't ship internationally.

If all this meets with your approval, give me your e-mail and we'll take it from there.

FWIW, and I'm bragging, I also unearthed a real Bumblebee Cap I removed OEM from a 1956 LP Jr back in the 70s, how about that?!

Nice combination of guitars.

As for the gold knobs--I think black guitars look best with black knobs.

Is that Strat finish transparent?

One day I may join you with a LP/Strat combo--I have the LP, but not the Strat.

to martian: SWEET!

my e-mail adress is:

[removed]

obviosly, remove the "REMOVE" in case of spam spiders, and once i get an e-mail from you i will remove the e-mail adress from the message

yes i live in U.S. (Virginia)

thats a beautiful les paul! i love some of the finishes, especially the warm gold ones like that.

the strat has a transparent finish. does anyone know what kind of pickups the '02 highway ones have. (i think mines an '02 actually, i'l have to find the reciept) there so warm and mellow and i can dial in just about any sound.
