I got this baby home an hour ago. All I can say is OMG

I am one happy camper!

This guitar sings it's big heart out. Sustain for days even on clean settings. I just had to play some reverb drenched Apache, Wipeout etc...LMAO!! Funk sounds, Dire Straits, jazzy sounds, chicken pickin, it's all there.....I haven't cranked my Carvin 100 watt tube amp with her yet, it's after midnight....

I've been playing a long time, but only humbucking guitars. New to single coils, they are alive compared to my Gibsons...(won't do Metal like a Gibson though :) )

Can you tell I am happy?

:D :D

Very nice! Sometimes I wish I was looking for a number one guitar right now, because it's a great time to buy second-hand here in Australia. The only way I could justify it would be to sell my current guitar, which I could never do. I'm seeing Custom Shop and Masterbuilts for around 40% of their retail prices, and great artist models like your Jeff Beck there that I'm itching to pick up. There's an Ultra that's received no bids at $1200 (1K U.S.)... mmm. It'd be good to have a little financial flexibility... heh.

I recently bought a 2005 John Mayer Tobacco Sunburst Body.I own a 2008 just like it,but there is one difference !!!! The 2008 Mayer strat has a 11 hole pickguard with 11 holes in the body. The 2005 Body I just bought has only 10 holes drilled in the body for the pickguard.Could this be a Rare Mistake of the Custom Shop to not drill the 11th hole or did the 2005 Mayer strats only have 10 holes.I have never seen a 10 hole stratocaster pickguard, only 9 and 11 !!!!!!!!!! Help..Thank's RebelBluesman

Congratulations! Nice touch with the sign to the forum! It's been a true test of ownership here for a while.

Fhopkins, yeah I saw that sign on another post. I have never seen that idea anywhere else. Made me laugh.....

I just noticed the closeup pic shows my favourite switch position 8) The Dire Straits position.....

heh... yeah, there are some strange listings at times. I shouldn't be watching anything, really, but I can't help myself. Someone more enterprising than I could buy that ultra, re-list it with better pics and make a quick $700 or so. As it stands, it's cheaper by $300 than the price I paid for mine — eighteen years ago! Mine hasn't got any blemishes or wear, though, and you'd have to hit an ultra pretty hard to ding the finish. Still, a great instrument for someone out there — they don't come up very often around here.
