G'day everyone. i just scored a 60th anniversary Jeff Beck on Fleabay. i've been doing some serious online hunting for a strat and couldn't pass this up. is it a good model for a first strat? :D

I have been playing for years, mainly the short scale humbucker variety.....I picked up a Samick strat for $50 bucks recently and have fallen in love with the single coil sound. I can play so much more expressively though the single coils. You guys here probably know this anyway.......

here's the link 8) . I will post some of my own pics when I get her.

cheers, pete

"Pickups: 3-Dual Coil Ceramic Noiseless Pickups"

I'm pretty sure he uses hot noiseless. Nice score!!!

I think you may have gotten an even better deal than you might imagine.

The Ebay description references American Standard hardware and describes them as chromed. I dont think those are chromed. I think they are stainless, at least the saddles.

The body has the Contour Heel, typically associated with the American Deluxe and not the American Standard.

Its a very nice guitar. I especialy like the rosewood board against that seafoam body.

I noticed that also ..Plus look at the tuners they are brushed stainless not chrome. With the heel And stainless saddles and tuners.. I also would be thinking deluxe and not standard...What is the exchange rate for AUS to USD?Regardless im sure this guitar wont disappoint anyone...It will only go up in value if well taken care of..But most of all i would think it should be a great playing and sounding Strat....It looks identical to the guitar Jeff Beck was playing when they video taped him and SRV together..

Big Jay, the exchange rate is around 84 cents AUD to the USD. This model retails for $3500 in Australia (yeah we get ripped off....)
