I have a strat equipped with a FR and a '73 strat as well. I use the bar extensively on both from subtle vibrato on chords to extreme Blackmore-ish abuse. The '73 stays in tune just as well as the FR does. It took some trial and error setups and a lot of time, but I got it there :)

It seems that achieving "anything" worthwhile takes some trial, error and time.

I'm kind of surprised that the scalloped neck players aren't commenting too much, but then again, we know they use it.

Not only is it worthwhile, it makes it seem even sweeter after all the sweat and elbow grease that went into it! :D

I keep the one on my strat plus as-is from the factory; just a bit off the body and level. It's okay for small accents and holds tine reasonably well. My AD on the other hand is screwed down flush with 5 ss springs stretched nice and tight so as not to give at all under the harshest string bending. It will do a gliss, but you have to lean on it and really intend to dive for it to move. The shorty ss trem bar is both a help and a hinderance, but I don't think a stock bar would last long with that kind of stress. Besides, I got a room full of superstrats for wild stuff!
