It's an American standard so the bridge and pickups are the same as those, which is very good.

great guitar - american standard when you're playing without the Roland pickup - only difference is one tone control. I've had a lot of fun with mine.

VG strat is really a fun guitar to play. So many different sounds. I have the Blizzard White with Maple Fingerboard. I have seen a couple of them left at a few Guitar Center Stores. You can probably can talk them down to $750 with the HSC......I did :D

Like others mentioned, it is basically a Amercian Standard Strat, but the older version, the one with the non traditional saddles.

I am still puzzled at the whole downfall of the VG. It got great reviews in just about every magazine. I believe they sold well. So why did it fail the way it did? I guess only time will tell

Pople want their strat to sound like a err strat.Fender jumped on the whole guitar modelling thing to compete with line 6.When was the last time you saw a line6 variax guitar being sold anywhere in the store?

Budglo I know where your coming from but if it sounded like a bass drum but was a huge seller do you think Fender would care. I do not own one but I thought they were selling good enough to stick around. I also have to disagree with you a bit too on the people want it to sound like a strat; There are many models that dont really sound like a strat as we would know it . The Clapton and Ultra of which I have both of and the hew Dave Murray with the double pups which I would like to have one of. But the thing there is the way they feel so I think comfort, playability and familiarity also have a lot to do with it.Because then we would all just need one.

But the clapton is identified with a person, thats why people want them. And people like the lace pickups.Bottom line with the vg is that it wasnt selling, people really didnt like the idea enough to pay 1600 dollars for it.Last time i went to GC, they still had 3 for the 999 price and its been marked down for months. That tells you something right there.
