Lets not quickly disregard the Highway Ones as a potential classic yet. Let us see in ten years or so on how it fairs, as time usually well tell. Many cheap guitars were once were disregarded for being a budget guitar and now are considered classics....Les Paul Jrs, Les Paul Specials, and the bottom of the line Gibson Melody Maker. The Highway One is another variation of the stratocaster that people like. I actually prefer playing it over my American Standard Strat.

amen, they were selling for $900 some places saw them
with price tags $930 then the price drop. they will be going
back up to the $900 to $930 rang again. the highway one sss
is tone superior over the new american standards. the highway ones
like i always said are the real deal. and the will become collectables.
i already have seen a 2007 daphne blue highway one sss sell for
$2,000 the daphne blue was discontinued in january 2008.

the highway one sss strat still list for $1,130
there going back up in price.

Welcome back!!

Strat2004 and I have gone around the block a few times on potential collector's value, i don't want to go that way. We both agree that it is a great guitar, and one of the best quality/price values going.

Really you have to let time take it's coarse to see what happens value wise. i hope they don't discontinue them, or if they do, that they have some kind of spiritual descendant. They occupy a pretty unique corner in the Strat family.

I wonder if the limited number of Daphne Blue HW1's might drive its value up, even if all HW1's skyrocket, or if they plummet, maybe the DB will be worth 10-20% more.

I'd get the highwayone, one :P .
Seriously black tele's with maple necks are always in style regardless of guitar fashions

I like that idea.

It looked like the Highway Ones might be discontinued when we saw the prices drop at quite a few internet retailers.

If they are being discontinued, the inventory wouldn't be replenished, so, are the inventories at stores being replenished or not?

Can dealers still get them or not?

Not all colours. The Daphne Blue from what I understand has been depleted, specially for the s/s/s strat model. Fender does not even have the daphne blue listed any longer as one of the color options for the highway one s/s/s. That one maybe a collector in the making as it is now in demand and a rare color now.

I think he meant all colors currently listed as options on current models. Daphne Blue was discontinued a couple years back. Running out of stock on it doesn't reflect the status of the current line.

Correct. Daphnie Blue was discontinued after the 2006 model year. Now there are only 4 colours: Black, Wine, Honey Blond, SB.

I miss Crimson Red. I saw a used one on a rack once and it was stunning!
