Post subject: Help with a Question?

I got a 2000 American Standard Strat today, and the pickup selector switch is odd, compared to my other strats that are older.

When the switch is all the over to either the front pickup, or the rear pickup, there's a gap on the opposite side. I was wondering if that's normal, or if this is a non-Fender replacement.

Sorry I uploaded the wrong pic of the body. I had one I resized and made smaller, but I guess I mixed them up.
